Check the thumbsticks to see if they're positioned correctly, and try wiggling them to see if they're loose. If the thumbstick pads feel loose, remove them. Replace the thumbstick pads with new ones, or reinstall with a shim like a sliver of paper or plastic, and check to see if they feel loose.

To get to the app on your console, you need to go to the Microsoft Store, scroll to the "Browse consoles and accessories" section at the bottom of the page, and click on the "Xbox Design Lab" tile. Alternatively, you can search for "Xbox Design Lab".

Open the Xbox Accessories app. Scroll to your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and select Configure. Select a profile to adjust or create a new one. Select the Edit button and in the Mapping tab select the icon or letter for the button or input you'd like to change.
